Sunday, January 28, 2024 – Congratulations to Hot Ice, a team based out of Syracuse, for winning the inagual Serve on Turf Tournament.
The co-ed 4 on 4 tournament brought teams from Onondaga, Awkesasne, Ithaca, and Syracuse to compete in the tournament.
“We had a great turn out, it was a blast,” said event organizer Haenhyanonhna Powless. “We had some really competitive games today. I think everyone had a good time.”
The 12 team field began round robin play at 10 the morning and the championship game beginning at 6:30 in the evening.
“Everyone got to play a lot of volleyball today,” joked Powless. “No one left wishing to play any more games.”
Although many teams expressed the desire to return to Tsha’ Thon’nes because it was a great place to play in.
